Posture Screen Promotion
Our body adapts to the position you assume for most of the day. So, if you sit and allow your back to round forward or arch backward, your tissues and joints will form a sort of cast around that posture, making it difficult for you to get into better postures later.
When we compromise the musculature designed to support our spines by assuming positions that are unique to the modern world, the spine searches for it’s own stability, which often means simply hanging on the end of ranges of the body.
You may have heard the sitting is the new smoking, some research is now showing that every hour of television watched after the age of 25 reduces the viewers life expectancy by 21.8 minutes. By comparison, smoking a single cigarette reduces life expectancy by 11 minutes. I read a study by Dr. Levine, who is the director of Mayo Clinic-Arizona State University Obesity Solutions Initiative, he claims that for every hour we sit, we lose two hours of life. I’ve always known the importance of Posture, but as I research more, it’s pretty hard hitting just how important for our health it really is.
At the studio we want to try and help you better your posture, reduce risk of injury and recover if thats relevant.
The first step in doing that is to firstly see exactly what you need to fix – this is why we want to encourage you to have regular screenings firstly get you on the right path and secondly ensure what your doing is correct and working – so we can track your progress.
We have a limited offer for 10 clients to take the posture screening for £15 (normally £25) this included a postural screening and explanation of findings – with recommendations and if relevant correctional exercises.
